The colors of my vowels.
I created this image two years ago to visually represent the way I associate colors with sounds. It was during this project that I realized I had a sound-color mechanism at play within me.
At first, I would casually use colors to describe sounds, thinking it was just a simple metaphorical expression. However, it wasn't until I noticed that specific vowels consistently evoked the same colors in my mind that I realized this was something more remarkable. For instance, 'Ahh' consistently appeared as yellow, while 'Ohh' consistently manifested as blue.
To delve deeper into this intriguing phenomenon, I turned to Photoshop to pinpoint the exact shades I felt. After creating the image, I conducted an experiment. I decided to refrain from looking at the image for a period and see if my color associations with sounds remained consistent. Much to my surprise, they did. This revelation served as my personal discovery of synesthesia, a unique sensory experience that has continued to fascinate me.

I asked chat GPT informations about synesthesia.
'It's not uncommon for individuals with synesthesia to associate sound, shape, and colors together, as synesthetic experiences can involve various combinations of sensory perceptions.'
Cool.
This discovery has opened up a multitude of intriguing questions for me. What lies beneath the color palette that spontaneously appears in my mind when I hear certain sounds? Do these colors represent my personal preferences, perhaps stemming from the colors I've encountered most frequently or those that have left the deepest impressions on me?
One question that looms large is whether this synesthetic experience will evolve over time. Interestingly, it has. For instance, 'Ahh' has shifted in my perception to white. These shifts in associations only deepen the mystery and continue to pique my curiosity.
Am I Crazy?
I've also noticed that sometimes the boundaries between my senses blur, where feelings from my five senses intertwine in unexpected ways. It's a captivating journey, and while it may raise more questions than answers, it's a testament to the endless wonders of human perception and the intricate tapestry of our minds.
Obvioulsly Chat GPT helped me write this, So big up to chat GPT !
